The Night When Christ Was Born

Mary laid Jesus in the manger because, as Luke 2:7 tells us, “There was no room for them in the inn.” The King of Kings was not born in a palace. Rather, he spent his first night in a barn the animals called home and slept in their feeding trough. Friberg, from the view of an onlooker, captures the audience of shepherds, a donkey, a cow, and a lamb as they welcome the Savior to their humble abode and to the world.
